When searching for four pals who disappeared in Oklahoma, remains were discovered in a river. In connection with the puzzling disappearance of four close friends in Oklahoma, lice reported on Friday that investigators have discovered what appear to be human remains partially buried in a river. According to the Okmulgee Police Department, Mark Chastain, 32, Billy Chastain, 30, Mike Sparks, 32, and Alex Stevens, 29, were last seen leaving one of their homes in Okmulgee at 8 p.m. Sunday riding bicycles. According to Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice, it’s unclear whether the remains belong to the four missing males. The removal of the bones from the river, according to Prentice, will take some time. The remnants appear to be human bodies, he continued. As they begin the process of recovering objects from the river, authorities are working to photograph the sight. The Chastain men and Sparks were both reported missing by one of their spouses overnight on Monday, according to the police. A few hours later, Stevens’ mother reported her son’s disappearance to the police. Police interviewed prospective witnesses on Tuesday and Wednesday, worked to compile descriptions, and searched the area to confirm sightings. Police Chief Joe Prentice wrote on Facebook on Wednesday, “These men are worn out.” Unless something urgent arrives overnight, I’m sending everyone home to rest. Tomorrow, things will be different. Investigators assumed that two of the men had cellphones on them, but attempts to reach them go straight to voicemail. The location of Chastain’s cellphone was traced to a region south of Okmulgee, but at some point, it either lost power or was turned off.
