Entertaining Events to Join This Weekend in Lake County is hosting several holiday celebrations and events, so it’s starting to feel like Christmas. This weekend hosts several festive events, including the Light Up Eustis and Light Up Mount Dora festivals and the Leesburg Christmas Stroll.

Light Up Eustis

Light Up Eustis, held in Ferran Park from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, will launch the weekend’s events. There will be carolers, merchants, a snow slide, a fake snowfall, free pictures with Santa, and more at this event. At 6 o’clock, there will be a tree-lighting ceremony.

Light Up Mount Dora

Saturday, December 1, from 3:30 to 9:00 p.m., Elizabeth Evans Park in downtown Mount Dora will host the annual Light Up Mount Dora event. Santa Claus, pyrotechnics, and a live band are all part of the festivities.

Leesburg Christmas Stroll

Have you heard that Leesburg is getting snow? Lights, live music, a giant Christmas tree with stunning moving lights, and Santa himself are all returning for this year’s Christmas Stroll. Saturday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., local merchants and downtown stores will be set up in Towne Square for your perusal.

Christmas Festival & Market with Santa

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Santa will visit the Christmas Festival & Market at Sunsational Farms in Umatilla on Saturday. There’s fun for the whole family with over 90 vendors, free photos with Santa, and an ice slide. There is no cover charge. Tickets can be purchased for rides on the bee train, the ice slide, and the bouncy houses during the carnival.

Leesburg will be hosting an Olde World Christmas Market downtown on Saturday.

Fourth annual Holidays on the Farm

For their 4th annual Holidays on the Farm, Santa Claus will visit the Lil’ Bit of Life Farm on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will also have their amiable animals ready for pony rides, photos, and other activities. Each participant must pay $10 to enter.

Leesburg Christmas House

On December 10, The Leesburg Partnership’s Christmas House will be closing. The house, at 209 Second St. in Leesburg, is stuffed with one-of-a-kind handmade products and seasonal goods manufactured by neighbourhood entrepreneurs. They’re open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday through Saturday and from 12 to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

Ornament Workshop

On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., come to the Leesburg Library Garden on Palmetto Street to make a holiday ornament influenced by customs from all around the world. Discover how Christmas is celebrated in many countries while bringing home a priceless work of art.

Enchanted Tree Forest

Victory Pointe in Clermont hosts the return of the Enchanted Tree Forest. Fifty trees can be seen that have been decorated by neighbourhood groups. They’ll be on display until January 8.

This coming Saturday, from 4 to 7 p.m., the downtown area of Eustis will have its fourth Saturday car show. Enjoy the restaurants, shopping, live music, and great vehicles.

Royal Highlands Community Craft Fair

On Saturday at 9 a.m., at 21505 Royal St. George Lane in Leesburg, take in the handiwork of Royal Highlands locals. Additionally, funds will be raised for Leesburg Elementary and the South Lake Animal League.

‘Five Golden Rings: A Greeting Card Channel Holiday Musical’

The musical comedy “Five Golden Rings: A Greeting Card Channel Holiday Musical” will continue its world premiere at the Sonnentag IceHouse Theatre starting on Friday and running for four weeks through December 11. Both the 24th and 25th of November are off from performances, as is the Saturday night concert.

A female business executive is snowed in at a Vermont bed and breakfast in this production, which is a parody of the holiday movies on the greeting card channel and is set a few days before Christmas. She begins to develop feelings for the proprietor of the company, which ironically is the company she has been ordered to purchase and dismantle, leading her to doubt her morals and principles.

The cast also features Brooklyn Yates as Grace, the 9-year-old innkeeper’s daughter, and Brian Allan Chambers as Nick, the inn’s helper. David Coalter and Kirk Simpson as Bradley Richman’s fiance, Sabrina Yager as Holly McVay, the prominent city executive, and John Gracey as Lance Manager, the innkeeper. Kristen Brock plays the role of city girl Trish and a resident in the ensemble.
