Is Wednesday Rated Pg 13: Is Netflix’s Wednesday a Kids’ Show?

Wednesday, directed by Tim Burton and starring Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Isaac Ordonez as the Addams Family, will be on Netflix on November 23. This fantasy comedy is about the main character, Wednesday Addams, who Ortega of Scream and You plays. She has to figure out how to live at her new school, Nevermore Academy, which is full of supernatural things.

But, as usual for the Addams Family, Wednesday can’t stay out of trouble. The gothic teen is trying to find a killer monster, solve the scary mystery that her parents were involved in 25 years ago, and master her psychic abilities while trying to make friends.

Since this horror comedy comes from the weird mind of Tim Burton, who is best known for movies like Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, you may be wondering how old you need to be to watch his latest Netflix movie without getting the heebie-jeebies. By reading on, you can find out all you need to know about Wednesday’s age rating.

What Age Rating Does Wednesday Have on Netflix?

Wednesday has a TV-14 rating, which means that teenagers and adults can watch it on their own. I think it depends on the age of people younger than their teens. Having seen all of Wednesday, I think it’s suitable for pre-teens and maybe even a little bit younger because, even though it’s about death and murder, it has a happy, good-natured vibe.

Netflix says that Wednesday is rated TV-14 because it has “fear, language, and violence.” Without giving away major spoilers, the main idea of the series is that the main character is trying to figure out why an evil creature is killing people at Nevermore. Even though there is violence and blood, the show doesn’t get too gory. There are also many funny parts to balance out the scary elements, such as the people Wednesday meets at her new school.

In the new series, Wednesday, Addams is a teen, and at Nevermore, she is surrounded by other teens her age. Because of this, all of the episodes have a teen vibe that doesn’t change into an adult one. Even though there are relationships between the students, there is nothing sexual besides some making out. The kids in your life will love Wednesday if they like Stranger Things, Fate: The Winx Saga, or Locke in Key. On Netflix, you can now watch all eight episodes of Wednesday.

Is Netflix’s Wednesday a Kids’ Show?

Wednesday on Netflix isn’t a show for kids, which is a shame. In the UK, it gets a 12 on the age certificate, but in the US, it receives a TV-14. There are stories about teens and a lot of violence and gore in the series. The side story about a monster that kills people can be pretty scary at times, and the fact that fantasy horror master Tim Burton directed the first four parts should give you a good idea of what to expect. I would say to stick to the rating systems and only show this new Netflix original series to people at least the ages listed above.
