Roger Wilcoxen, 61, of Winfield has been named by the Wichita Police Department as the victim of a motorcycle accident on Wednesday night.
On Wednesday at 6:48 p.m., police were called to an injury collision at the junction of S. Hydraulic and Marion.
After colliding with a 2005 Hyundai Infiniti being driven by a 26-year-old woman, Wilcoxen, a motorbike rider, was ejected from his vehicle when emergency responders arrived.
Emergency medical assistance was provided to Wilcoxen by EMS and Wichita Fire, but he passed away from his wounds there and then.
The Infiniti was attempting to make a turn from eastbound Marion to northbound Hydraulic when it collided with Wilcoxen, according to the police. Wilcoxen was traveling south on Hydraulic at the time.
The probe is still going on.
The Wichita Police Department said a man in his late 50s died when a car struck his motorbike at a junction in the south of the city while failing to stop at a stop sign.
WPD Captain Wendell Nicholson said the biker was heading south on Hydraulic when the car, which was traveling east on Marion Road, struck the motorbike in the intersection. The crash was reported just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday near Pawnee and Hydraulic.
The car, according to Nicholson, is a compact SUV.
He claimed that its driver wasn’t hurt.
A motorcycle and car collided in south Wichita, leaving one person dead.
According to a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor, the collision occurred on Wednesday just before 7 p.m. at East Marion Road and South Hydraulic, close to Pawnee and Hydraulic.
