Officials say the driver’s car crashed Monday on I-35W near Northeast 28th Street. Now identified as a 19-year-old Las Vegas man named Dan Shaka, the driver was badly hurt and died that night at JPS Hospital.
Witnesses told police the car was going very fast and weaving in and out of traffic. When Shaka lost control, the car crashed off the freeway and slammed into several concrete pillars.
